Thinking Blogger Award
So, it’s tag time, again. I’m sure most of you are now aware of this particular meme. It’s quite a sweet idea, and gives you the opportunity to thank your fellow bloggers, for all their tremendous efforts to keep your little grey cells happy.
I cannot say that i deserve the award though, especially when i consider my recent output. I don’t have the energy to keep my own grey matter ticking over, never mind yours! God-willing, i shall try to improve the quality of my future entries, now that i have a ‘rep’ to protect.
I was graciously tagged by two lovely sisters, Sumera & Unique Muslimah, who both would’ve been on my list, if they hadn’t gotten to me first. Keep up the good work, girlfriends!
The rules of this tag are as follows:
1. If and only if you get tagged, write a post linking 5 of the blogs and their post that made you think.
2. Link to the person who tagged you so that people can find the original meme.
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
Now, i’m afraid i’m going to cheat a little – just a little, mind. I cannot recall which entry of which blogger made me think the most, as there have just been far too many. So instead, i shall simply point to five blogs that inspire me on a regular basis. I feel a little guilty, because the list is definitely longer than five (just check out my blogroll!), so dear blogging buddies, do not take offense if you do not see your names here. I’m also keeping in mind those blogs that i know have already been tagged: you’ve had your moment in the spotlight, so move over!
OK, let’s get on with it, shall we? In no particular order:
1) AnonyMouse, for Musings of a Muslim Mouse, and Muslim Matters
She’s a head-strong brat, with grand ideas of ‘healing the world’. She makes me laugh, think, and cry… sometimes all at once. It can get quite messy. Seriously though, i am always impressed by her efforts, considering her tender years. I wish i was that clued up at her age… in fact, i wish i was that clued up now! May Allah preserve her, and grant her success.
2) Daniel, for Seeking Utopia
Whoops, i’ve nominated an infidel! Oh well, he’s not the worst infidel i’ve ever met (or not met, in this case). He also has grand hopes for saving this warring world from itself. I don’t always agree with his methods, but the fact that he cares, says a lot. His posts always make me think – often about things i wish i didn’t have to.
3) Farzeen, for Reflective Dust
This girl is so deep, the oceans would be jealous. I love her blog, but I rarely comment, because i don’t want to detract from her wisdom with my inane ramblings. Whereas her lengthy comments on my blog have earned her the unofficial title of co-author. But that’s OK, cos she’s the poetic princess of prose.
4) All the sisters at Nisaa, we are Muslim Women
This site is just amazing, mashallah: the talent, the beauty, the spirituality… sisterhood at its finest.
5) Oh no – just one more space left! Argh… erm, err… ah. Ok, Ok… i choose… *eeny meeny miny mo* Manas, for Reflections
He opened my eyes to real Indian blogging, and real Indian issues, although he doesn’t always talk about these matters. His blog has helped me to appreciate the land of my ancestors, and its intellectual inhabitants. I now expect great things from the Muslim youth of India, inshallah!
So, that’s it… nothing more to see here, folks. I have played my part in keeping this monster alive. It’s your problem now… [insert evil laugh here]

Gah.
I am part of an-nisaa. So I guess I am included. YES

You’ve already been tagged by someone else, you greedy moo.
Anyway, i’m on the list of Nisaa contributors (for one entry i submitted eons ago!) – so i’ve inadvertently been all narcissssssistic, and tagged myself… oops!

Gee thanks IMuslim. It’s a great honour. Now what do I have to do? Surely not think!
Can you provide me with a link where someone has done the deed in an acceptable manner (to you that is)? Thanking you in anticipation.
Namaste!

As-salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu,
=O
I’m (happily!) surprised! Subhan’Allah, I never would’ve expected this… al-Hamdulillaah, I’m glad that you’ve seen of me is good!
Hmmmm, I’ll see what I can do to keep this little meme going…
Hugs from your little sister in Islam,

Daniel: Sumera’s tag was pretty much how it should be done, methinks.
Mouse: This is not the Oscars – no teary acceptance speech is necessary.

Assalaamu’alaykum sis
Thanks for your vote of confidence. You said, I don’t want to detract from her wisdom with my inane ramblings. While this may be a valid explanation to you, I disagree with the premise of it entirely… I’m not even sure where to begin, so I’ll leave it at that.
And again, thanks for graciously forgiving my ramblings on your blog
.

…and then trips on her abayah, and falls flat on her face.
Pride does come before a fall, y’know.

I’m dragging the chain a little, IMuslim.
Going through a black patch.
Questioning myself, blogging.
Life.
